Sofialys has been created with one objective in mind: work with operators, publishers, agencies and brands to facilitate the creation of a new ecosystem where the Mobile Phone would become a mass market media.

Mobile, a Unique Medium

Two third of the Worldwide population, i.e. around 4bn people today owns a mobile phone, making it the most popular electronic device globally.

The advent of Mobile Phones as the primary pocket device has changed consumers behaviour to a point where the handset is the first and last object you use over the day.

A recent study shows consumers interact with their mobile phone 8.5 times a day on average, creating a unique relation with the device and therefore new opportunities for brands to strengthen their relation with consumers.

A fast-growing market

The current European Mobile Marketing and Advertising market is estimated between €150m and €200m, with a large percentage of this figure being generated over the 5 major western countries.

While many analysts reports predict Mobile Marketing and Advertising to generate double-digit billions Euros revenues by 2012, what we know from our own experience on the ground is that today’s market growth ranges from 30% to 50% and is likely to sustain those figures over the next 5 years.

It took 12 years for the Internet to grab 12% of the Global advertising market; we believe it will only take another 5 years before Mobile reaches this figure.

The best is yet to come

Some see a market slowed down by the current crisis and that to date has not delivered as fast as expected.

What we see is a market place full of opportunities yet to be explored, breakthrough campaign ideas to be developed, disruptive technologies to be leveraged and innovative business models to be created.

What we see is a market in its infancy that will be at center of advertisers and media groups’ strategies 5 years from now.
